Business Areas & Premises
Local businesses, industrial estates and business parks
in Coventry offer a shining example of care and responsibility of the
regeneration of their ground maintenance. Westwood Business Park has
again kept a well maintained green space, providing a pleasant and
enjoyable working environment for the many staff who work on site within
the various 50 business buildings. Crosspoint Business Park host large
office buildings which include premises belonging to Lloyd’s Pharmacy
and Barclays Bank; the area works hard to combine contemporary
landscaping alongside sustainable, attractive planting. The various
shrubs and perennials provide all year round colour, nestled in
alongside the stunning key focal points within the otherwise urbanised
location.
Work has continued at Coventry train station, which is for many, the
gateway to the city. The Landscape Group along with CV One have worked
with staff to improve and create a shining representation of Coventry in
order to leave a long lasting, positive impression upon the thousands of
visitors who arrive in the city each day. Coventry city council have
provided an extra 20 planter containers to supplement the ones currently
in place; these have been planted with vibrant, summer planting
including geraniums and begonias. Similarly, dedicated staff members
have prepared hanging baskets with trailing, colourful summer blooms to
brighten the various platforms for visitors.
As one of the partners for this year’s Coventry in Bloom campaign,
Ikea’s first city centre based store continues to embrace its prime
location in the heart of Coventry by making efforts to brighten the
immediate surroundings with well maintained border planting, herbaceous
plants and shrubs along with lush, grass verges. The Landscape Group
have kindly donated and planted new additions to the surrounding beds
which have in turn improved the look and feel to the store, softening
the appearance of the landmark site.
Local pubs, restaurants and businesses in the city centre have once
again, worked hard along side the Bloom campaign to make an extra,
enthusiastic effort in improving the facades of their buildings, making
them vibrant and welcoming to residents and visitors alike. ‘The Tudor
Rose’ pub has again, decorated it’s frontage with beautiful hanging
baskets, as have ‘The Squirrel’ and ‘Playwrights’ café, complimenting
the surrounding buildings and green space with wonderful colourful,
summer blooms serving as an inviting attraction to passers by. Brown’s
café/bar continues to support the campaign by working alongside CV One
and The Landscape Group to plant summer colour outside of their
well-known establishment. As always, business owners in the historical
Spon Street continually strive to create a lush, well maintained
environment by working together to add complimentary planting to the
front of their stores. The Landscape Group have worked to fill planter
containers surrounding the famous Coventry council house with vibrant,
summer geraniums and polyanthus. Adding colourful flare through one of
the busiest streets in the city, these containers serve as a warm
welcome to visitors by both brightening and complimenting the heritage
steeped, Earl Street.
New Union Street car park and its nearby offices are interlaced with
several colourful beds which house a selection of marigolds, begonias,
geraniums and pansies. Eden Bar located in Ryley Street displays an
energetic array of hanging baskets and potted palms which combine to
compliment the 18th century cottage. The latest multi million pound
business park within the city boasts a variety of hard landscaping,
stunning vistas and residential recreational areas for its accommodation
guests and employees.
Coventry Techno Centre displays superb areas of well maintained mowed
grass verges, vibrant flowering beds and hard landscaped areas in
amongst the various business buildings. The various art installations
are synonymous with Coventry’s rich history, including the jet engine on
display.
