Funding & Support
This year has seen a brand new City Centre Manager appointed, working on behalf of CV One and the Business Improvement District (BID). Marc Dwyer and his team work alongside the business establishments within Coventry city centre to provide support with crime reduction, CCTV monitoring, marketing, promotions and street cleansing. The business members pay a regular fee of which the funds are used to maintain and improve where necessary the quality of Coventry’s city centre. CV One, working alongside the local business premises, Coventry City Council and The Landscape Group, see to it that the streets are patrolled seven days a week whilst kept clean and tidy all year round. The membership fee goes a long way to fund green initiatives such as the street cleansing Schmidt machine, new cigarette bins and hanging baskets to make Coventry a more attractive and safe place to live, work and visit.
Roundabout signs found throughout the city centre have seen a
range of city businesses showing their support for the Coventry in Bloom
campaign. Businesses such as Jackson Rose, Enliven Aesthetic Clinic and
Coventry University have all taken sponsorship; each sign carries the
Coventry in Bloom strap line.
CV One and The Landscape Group have this year teamed up with the
Coventry Ramblers Association to celebrate their 100th anniversary. By
providing summer colour for the themed bed in Greyfriar’s Green, the
Ramblers Association have in turn sponsored the associated signage to
show their full support for this years Coventry in Bloom campaign.

Based in Warwickshire, world famous car manufacturers Jaguar/Land Rover
have once again teamed up alongside CV One and The Landscape Group to
show their support for Coventry’s entry into the Heart of England in
Bloom competition. Jaguar/Land Rover have provided environmentally
friendly promotional display vinyl’s incorporating the Bloom branding on
their premium 4x4 vehicles for the judging day.
Both the Coventry Telegraph and Coventry Observer have fully supported
the Coventry in Bloom campaign this year. In collaboration with event
organisers, once again the ‘Best Garden Competition’ was launched in
July which has seen local residents competing for the chance to win
£1000. Local businesses ‘Ikea’ and ‘Russell’s Garden Centre’ have each
contributed to this prize fund with garden furniture, paving and plants
on offer to the winner. The regions premier lifestyle magazine, ‘Feel
Alive’, delivered to 100,000 homes in the city ran with a double page
spread promoting the campaign with green fingered residents sending in
pictures of their own gardens for us to upload onto a specialist gallery
online in the autumn.
A wide range of city businesses have also showed their support for the
campaign including: City College, Jackson Rose, Coventry University,
Bendigo Mitchell, Merrick Binch and Transpire. All these companies have
taken out sponsorship on a variety of roundabout signage across the
city. Each sign carries the supporting Coventry in Bloom strapline.
As part of their on-going contract with CV One, Coventry University have
provided funding and dedicated support throughout the year. Alongside
The Landscapes Group, CV One have worked to help cleanse and maintain
areas of the campus whilst providing bedding plants and hanging baskets
to the various university buildings. Coventry University also fund
several eye catching roundabout signs located in prime city centre
locations. Along with this, CV One continues to work closely with the
university to help promote and support its growing investment and ever
growing student population within the city.
